The year is quickly coming to a close and what a year it has been. From renovation projects, to maternity leave, new business ventures to adventures in road tripping across the country – 2017 is a year I won’t soon forget.
Launching In The Storyhouse has certainly been a highlight for me because it has let me reconnect with parts of blogging that I love and that I was drawn to so many years ago. This week, we are talking about the act of searching for happiness; touching on many of the internal struggles we face in its pursuit, why we are often challenged to recognize contentment when it comes.
The most ironic part about this episode is that we recorded it when I was full blown sick with the flu and it’s obvious in my voice that I’m using every ounce of energy to keep it together. I learned a lot this week. I learned that it’s okay to give myself time and space for ‘deep work’; the kind of work required to answer questions like ‘what is happiness to me?’ and ‘what do I really want to feel like?’ Our guest is celebrated psychologist, author and speaker Natasha Sharma. We use her new book The Kindness Journal as a guide for our conversation.
I hope you have a chance to listen!
