You know how they say you can actually build your dreams? Well, they weren’t kidding π This month has been an absolute riot – in the best sense ever. I know most of you know this about me, but I can’t sit still. I’m always pursuing something new, building something, developing new business and creative ideas and lately, things have been happening at lightning speed. I’ll be able to share a lot more with you in the coming weeks about everything, but one of the major things that I’ve had going this month is my work with the QEII Home Lottery and their incredible Show Homes in Nova Scotia.
I launched Erin Trafford LIVE at the beginning of March and always imagined I’d grow it to a place where I’d be able to tour incredible properties in the Maritimes. I didn’t imagine it would happen so soon! Our show on April 16th was Live from the QEII Show Home in Chester, Nova Scotia – or should I say Show Cottage. This home is being given away as part of the Foundation’s Spring Lottery and it is nothing short of incredible.
You can check out the Live Show replay here.
It’s not huge, it’s just perfect. It’s like the designer Emily Rendell took a page from current trends, classic design and mixed them into this beautiful, family friendly, functional design package for today’s modern cottage goer.
Essentially, I should just let the pictures do the talking here. LOL The house is a three bed, two bath house with an upper loft area and an adjoining ‘flex’ room. I love the living room, and the couch is divine (as you can see!)
Emily took a leap in the kitchen painting the custom cabinets in BM’s Smoke… and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I honestly think this is a vibe I could live with forever. The way it plays with the wood tones is incredible. You’ll have to watch the video to see more of the kitchen. For some reason, I took a bunch of video and not many stills.
She’s also created this awesome coffee and tea bar in the upper loft area. Perfect for movie snack time and morning chill outs. I’d love something like this in my house!
As for the bedrooms, the front room is a bright and airy, grown up guest suite. I think it is my favorite room in the whole house. It has this French coastal feel that just makes me want to curl up on that bed and write and sip tea and nap the day away.
The back bedroom is the ‘kids’ room, but it doesn’t feel that way! The wall covering is vinyl, navy ANIMAL constellations!! I’m looking for the source so I can share it with you all because yes, it is that amazing.
The Master bedroom is understated and oh -so – coastal, with lots of tone on tone pattern and texture, a gorgeous woven headboard and luscious lighting. And it leads to a bathroom with a tub from heaven π
If you’re in Nova Scotia, make sure you check out the Home Lottery, because honestly I can’t even imagine winning this home and all its contents!!! Meantime, you can catch me dreaming of sitting by the fireplace… (oh and ET Live on Thursday April 26th will be at the other Grand Prize Show home… so don’t miss that either!)
