How to Make a Table out of a Log | Take Two

Home decorFurniture

Are you experiencing deja vu? Yes? So are we. πŸ™‚ This is part two of our ‘how to make a table out of a log’ experience.

Did you catch Part one? It’s here.

Here’s the nutshell: We got this log. It is white maple.Log Side Table BEFORE

We painstakingly peeled and stripped off the bark, sanded it down, put little feet on it and let it dry out in our house for almost a year. That’s basically it. πŸ™‚

Here are the supplies we used for the entire project:

After letting the log dry out FOR ALMOST ONE YEAR….I flipped it over and randomly wrapped Frog Tape around the middle. Then I primed it with two coats of Stain Blocking Primer (we really like this one.)

Then I added two coats of PARA Paints’ Crysler Hall White. It’s the same glossy tone I used on my vintage waterfall desk makeover. I LURVE it.

The last step was to add casters to the log.  The wheels add a cool industrial vibe to it and I totally love it. Add wheels to a log tableSo there it is! A labor of love… and log? πŸ™‚ One year later and it’s finally complete.DIY Rustic Log Table

I just love the way this super simple update to this ol’ log has allowed it to play perfectly with metallics, geometrics and sparkle. Seriously. I truly believe white paint can save almost anything when it comes to decor. Sand and Paint a Log for a Rustic Table

Speaking of metallics – that’s a little hint about my submission for our next #FurnitureREFRESH project that’s coming up on Thursday. I cannot wait to show you what I’ve been up to. The theme is weathered.DIY Log Side Table - Full Tutorial
