We finally made it! The Nursery Reveal

I’m emotional just writing the title of this post. I actually don’t even know how to express my feelings right now, except to say that I honestly believe this room came together in the exact right way for this exact Baby. There were times in my life when I never dreamed I’d be writing a post about a nursery reveal – I just couldn’t wrap my head around any of it. But we’re here now…and somehow, I feel as if this is the direction my life has been heading the entire time.

Some of you have seen that we welcomed our sweet baby girl Piper into the world on her due date – two weeks ago. We have been spending the last days getting to know each other and trying to figure out this thing called sleeping and eating… and I’ve been trying very, very hard to unplug from work, the blog and the world for just a while … 😉 Thank you so much for all of your kind words and blessings for our family at this very special time.

I’m kinda short on words these days (and sanity energy, to be honest), so I’m going to go off-book a bit and share mainly photos in this post. I’ve sourced as many items as possible at the bottom of the photos with links and such, but if you have any questions, leave me a comment and I’ll do my best to respond 🙂 Some of what you see here are projects that I’m writing posts for… but just haven’t finished up yet. And some of what’s in here is one of a kind stuff that we found, inherited or thrifted – the basket pendant light, for example. We found it at a yard sale and retrofitted it into a ceiling fixture.

Here are all the posts I’ve done that have brought us to now :

Without further ado, I give you Froggy’s Piper’s room 🙂Nursery BEFORE

The nursery is adorable, so well organized and room to grow in. You and your husband just have to be so proud of what you have accomplished. The lady in the post above is so right about sleeping when the baby sleeps even during the day. If you are well rested things go better and you and baby will bond better and it will make it easier for dad to bond also if you are well rested. Our bodies heal best during sleep, so don't try to be super mom right off the bat. You and hubby are going to be great parents.

Erin, congratulatins to you and your new family! The feeling of love you have for Piper is like no love I am sure you have ever felt before! (At least it was for me!). The best advice I will give you (especially if you are breast feeding ) is sleep when she sleeps! It is okay to have a messy house or to eat take out! Bonding is more important and the mess will be there tomorrow! Just enjoy her because in a blink of an eye she will be grown and you will have wished you cuddled her one more time! Also, it will take some time to feel "normal" again, for me that was a month! For others it is just a few days but every woman is different and don't worry if it is longer than you thought it would be. Your body just did the most amazing thing it could and it needs time to recover! Enjoy her and know that you are a great mom doing your best! P.S. Crying for no reason is normal in the beginning -all those hormones! If it goes on longer than a couple of weeks talk to your doctor. You are not alone!

Beautiful nursery! So happy Piper is here -- strange not calling her "Froggy" anymore! :) Congratulations!
