I gave into the trendiest of trends. Why yes, I did and I began adding soft pink pastels to the Master Bedroom. I guess I was looking for a way to update our incredibly bold bedroom because it has been the exact same for the last year. (Ever since we did a total makeover for the One Room Challenge).
I love our bedroom though. It functions so well for us. I mean, if I’m being honest, it’s rarely picture perfect tidy because there always seems to be an animal sleeping on the bed or in the closet and a pile of clothes of something on the floor. But I’m still really happy with what we’ve accomplished in this relatively small space. The plush blanket is from Giant Tiger, the pillow covers and sheets are from IKEA.
I’ve been touring the show homes lately for ET Live and all of them have these sprawling Master Bedrooms big enough to do cartwheels in and I just keep thinking how much I like our cozy space. It’s warm in the winter, cool in the summer and we don’t need much more in there other than what we have.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the hubbub of ‘having more’. Lately, I’m drawn to having less and less and, to be honest, only blogging about things that actually matter to me. This past two weeks, I took the longest break from blogging I’ve ever taken! I just felt a bit drained and like I didn’t have anything to say. I spent many hours curled in bed with a book and also many, many hours working on my new business, Storyhouse Co. which officially launches tomorrow. If you’re a blogger or digital entrepreneur – you’ll want to check it out!
I told myself in 2018 that my word was going to be TRUST. And here I am, five months into the year and I continue to challenge myself each day to trust my intuition and slow down when it’s telling me to slow down. It feels so good. Kinda like these blush pink accents in my bold blue room 🙂
By the way, I need to replace those empty air plant holders with something else. The wall is so skinny and long though! Any suggestions??
